The lower the sun, the taller the shadows become.

The past week has been sound, work hasn't been too bad and ive ate well most days which is pretty hard to do over here what with the huge choice of fast food on every corner, i decided not to drink this weekend as i wanted to get up early today and have a walk round downtown Dallas to get a feel of the place and have a look at some art. Had a quik search on the internet before i left the house and found 'Dragon street' a road with about 15 Art Galleries one after the other and not far from the city centre, i decided to start here.
I Found it quite funny that even half way across the world a lot of people are doing the same thing as back home when it comes to artwork, thick paint, cracked surfaces etc...However, there was some other really good stuff aswell, i definatley got a bit of inspiration. I picked up some leaflets and magazines and even had a chat to a working artist in his studio, A french bloke in his late fiftys who wore a lovely pair of pvc trousers....

After visiting the galleries i headed in to town, Its quite cold at the moment so i was wrapped up yet i was still wearing my shades as the suns still out. Most people drive over here so i was sharing the pavements with the poor, I passed the Hard Rock Cafe and Hooters, visited the first house ever built and basically wandered around wishing i had my BMX, the place is full of places to ride with one spot aptly named PEGasus plaza.
After a while i decided to start heading back as i didn't want to be stuck in the centre after dark with some of the characters that were around me, The place is nice in most parts but like most citys it has its fair share of drunks and homeless. i went to the train station where i was confronted by a crackhead trying to sell me his day rider, i declined a number of times and as he went to put it away i noticed he had a handfull in his pocket. I decided to go get a taxi as he wasn't going anywhere in a hurry...

Downtown..

The first house ever built in Dallas...
This is round the back of the house, love old American trucks...

Day over, back home chilling...... In a bit.
